As a Voluntary Controlled Church in Wales Primary School, the school enjoys close links with the Parish Church at Llantilio Pertholey.
During the year, three all school services are held at St Teilo’s. In December, members of the congregation visit the school to help the children make Christingles, which are then used during the Christingle service.
The second service to that takes place is the annual Easter service, this is then followed at the end of the summer term with the Leavers Service, during this service all those in Year 6 receive a gift from the Parish.
Apart from the whole school visits, various smaller groups visit St Teilo’s, mainly as part of the Religious Education syllabus.
At a recent Estyn inspection it was concluded that;
‘Llantilio Pertholey Voluntary Controlled Primary School is a very effective school with many outstanding features. Learners make very good progress and teaching is consistently good. The provision is of a high quality and the school is very well led and efficiently managed.’
