St Teilo’s has a small but dedicated band of ringers, some of whom are parishioners of St Teilo’s but others worship and also ring the bells at St Mary’s Priory Church in Abergavenny. More information about bell ringing at St Teilo’s can be found on the page dedicated to the Bell Ringers.
The Friendship Circle is a women’s group that meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Tredilion room at St Teilo’s Church at 7.30pm except in August. At present there are 18 members. You do not have to be a church member to join, just come along and you will receive a warm welcome. The evening begins with prayer, followed by a speaker or activity and ends with a cup of tea and biscuits. Members pay an annual amount of £10 each year which goes towards speakers' expenses. The group usually goes on a visit during one of the summer months.
Sunday School is held every Sunday (during term time) at St Teilo’s, the children leave the main service (10.30am) for a side room after the Collect and return for the beginning of communion, to receive an individual blessing at the altar. Sunday School is aimed at children between the ages of 4 – 11. At the end of the service the children are invited to tell the congregation what they have been working on.
St Teilo’s has a small but faithful mixed choir that accompanies the singing at the 10.30am Eucharist service and 6pm Evensong. The choir also sings at other services when required. The choir practices every Friday during term time at St Teilo’s for approx an hour from 6pm. Why not come along and join us – no experience necessary.
